Any short bottom/back bouncing blank suggestions?

Did a search on this subject, have a general understanding of the basic technique, and the Batson HS1021F seems to be a good candidate at 3/8 - 3oz, and a sensitve x-fast tip section with a 4.5 tip top, along with the HS1023F at 1/2 - 4oz, with an X-fast tip section and 5.0 tip top. But both of these rods are 8 1/2' long and I would really like something a bit shorter. Everything I've seen so far in the same lure weight range but a foot or so shorter has a larger 7-8 tip top so I don't think the upper section would be as sensitive. I could take the 1025 and gnaw a little at a time off the butt section to get where I want but would rather find something already at these specs but closer to 7 1/2' if possible. I would build it as a spiral wrap to use with my baitcaster. Thanks. Re: Any short bottom/back bouncing blank suggestions?

Check out the Rogue BB796, not quite 7'6" but closer. It's a similar line and lure rating, 12-25 and 1-4 oz. I trimmed one to 7'5" for bass fishing and have been very happy with it. Edited 1 time(s). The Rainshadow HS 9000 and 9001 have faster tips than the 8 ft 6 in versions. I don't think the ratings are for the same thing, the short HS blanks get used a lot to throw spinners, etc. The longer rods spend more time on a boat dragging weight and lures.
