Magazine additions

Due to the large upsurge in RodMaker circulation over the past few months, new options have presented themselves. I met with my printer this afternoon and it appears that as of next Spring, RodMaker will be moving to a full color format and will go from 40 to 44 pages. There will be no increase in the subscription price. This remains contingent on the subscription numbers staying up where they are now, but I have no indication that they won't be even higher by then. We'll see, but this is something I've wanted to do for some time and it appears that it's on the near horizon now.

Continuing to add improvements when you are already #1 says a lot about the way you do business. And adding those improvements without any price increase says even more.

WOW, you continue to amaze me! Not many would take an increase in revenue and immediately try to improve a magazine that is already the best in the field and really needed no improvement to continue to be the best bargain out there!!! Kudo's to you and we all owe you a thanks!!!

It just keeps getting better-------Thanks Tom

Also a question. Is it likely that someday there may be an article about blank failure analysis. I suspect that it may be major undertaking to accumulate all the information, especially photos, but I think it would be of interest to many.

Thanks again for a SUPER publication.

Superb. Thanks Tom. This is great news indeed - I mean the surge in readership. The improvement in the magazine is a bonus.

As a matter of fact, the issue that mails in December will have an article on blank failure - the causes and how to recognize them from visual inspection.

I know that you take pride in the fact that you keep the number of advertisements down in the magazine, but I actually really like the advertisements, because they alert me to new products and makes it sort of a catalog slash magazine. So personally, I would not mind increased advertisements and of course increased advertisements would decrease the financial burden on you and maybe even drop the price of the subscription. Just a thought, even though you obviously do just fine without my opinions just thought I would throw it out there.

Also, I am really excited about the magazine changing to full color, that will really make it nicer.

I'll be happy to add more advertisements. Who do you know that's wanting to advertise? Just send them my way.

James, You like advetisements, you should subscribe to Sports Afield or Field &Steam or I'll send you my next phone book when I get it. The net is loaded with adds, lets not turn RodMaker into junk mail.
Tom, Raise the price when you have to But, dont waste ink.

I haven't turned anyone down for advertising - this industry is only so large.

It is true that most publications are at least 50% or more advertising copy. RodMaker has settled in at about 15% and that's fine by me. If more firms wish to advertise, it is a simple matter to add more pages.

Tom, What I'm trying to say is that I'd hate to see Viagra offering rod repairs on the back cover.

Tom,
The shop that prints RodMaker does a really super job, you should show up there with donuts. Often.

I show up there with $35,000 per issue. They seem to appreciate that even without donuts.

I'm not going to take advertisement from non rod building related companies. Don't worry about that.
