Tom,
Have you ever thought about adding an on line spelling checker to the forum? Every now and then, items are discussed, where the use of a good spelling checker would certainly make them easier to read. Thanks for your consideration. Roger Re: On line spelling checker?

I appreciate your comment. A spell checker could be added but there is a cost associated with it. Funds are limited and therefore I have to set priorities. A forum spell checker is a little bit low on the list compared to other things that need tending to. Sorry.

It's easy and quick to use one of your existing spell checkers on all posts. Since most email programs have a spell checker and are usually open on our computers, simply compose your message with it, spell check it, then copy and paste into the forum window. Word or other word processors are also good choices. Bobby Feazel [www.shockwaverods.com] Conventional wisdom will not open the box. Re: On line spelling checker?

If you use Internet Explorer as your browser, there is a great little FREE spell checker available at [iespell.com] It is simple to use and takes very little room on your computer Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Another free option for spell checking is the Google Tool Bar. It includes spell checking. Re: On line spelling checker?

ANother option for a spell checker is this isn't grammar school don't worry about spelling unless you feel teh need to give someone a grade and you have a red pen sitting next to your bench waiting to correct Bob Balcombe or myself for an inordinate amount of spelling errors. I can tell you this - I'm on enough forums that have a spell checker and I never use it there, so there's a 0% chance of using it here. Not worth the time to correct typo's and teh teh teh Re: On line spelling checker?

I actually use a spelling checker that works with any of the applications that I am running.
i.e. I type directly to the forum and if I have a typo, the line will become underlined in red. Easy to fix. My only hope would be that others would have a chance to use a similar product since it simply makes everyone posts easier and to avoid misinterpretation of the letters and characters being posted. Take care Roger Re: On line spelling checker?

I just cut and paste it on my email site "write" and then do a spell check with the one provided then move it back here. Re: On line spelling checker?

The Safari browser has it built in, you just need to go into the Edit menu on the tool bar and set your preference . Problem wit a spell checker is you still need to know what you are trying to say and use the right words. If you use the wrong words they at least will be spelled write.
