If you want to break or crush rods, a sledge hammer does a wonderful job.

Also a 100 ton car crusher does an equally excellent job.

Neither one of these have much use on a fishing rod however.

Why would superior hoop strength equate to a better blank? Just sounds like more scrim and resin (not to mention weight) to me.
