casting vs spinning

I am new to forum.What is the difference between a spinning blank and a casting blank of the same length and specification.

None. They are both just tubular shafts and in many cases the exact same blank is marketed under both designation.

Occasionally, a company will design a blank with a specific use in mind, but a blank is a blank and you could use it either way. The blank will never know what type reel you mount on it.

It's important to understand that some blank makers build their casting and spinning blanks differently. For one large manufacturer, their spinning blanks are slightly less powerful and faster even though it may have the same model number. This doesn't mean you can't build a casting rod out of a spinning blank or vice versa.
