Check your local Wal Mart.
Some sell an inexpensive WF floating line for 12-14 dollars.
If you want to buy a good line check RIO

Joe,
Where do you live? Try a 7wt as alot of times the fly guys will load a line that is a bit heavier than the rod rating.

Any rod will cast any line. If you just want to cast the rod, moving up or down a line size will work find as long as you adjust how much of it you hold beyond the tip.

If you're testing for clearance, there won't be that much difference in one size, up or down.
