Does anyone know anything about the thread pictured in the link below? My brother gave it to me with a couple of blanks he has had for years. I haven't wrapped any with it yet, but I did make a couple nice furled leaders with it last night.
[www.rodbuilding.org] This is my first post, but I've been on the site for a year or two now. Thanks. Ben Re: Unknown thread

5/0 Japanese silk thread. It's still made today and is used on bamboo (cane) rods. Re: Unknown thread

It's Fishhawk Silk. Robbie ust put a Fishhawk label over the Japanese label. He has a couple of sizes, and a lot of colors.
Here is the color chart: [www.fishhawkthreads.com] HEre are the sizes: 3/0 200 meters; A 100 meters; D 50 meters And here is a sponsor who has the 3/0 size in stock, apparantly in all the colors": [] (scroll down a bit) Re: Unknown thread

Thanks, on the other side of the spools you can tell another label was taken off, I guess it was the fishhawk label. But I swear this stuff is not silk (I have some and it is definitely different,) it acts more like nylon and is "twisted" like nylon thread. Edited 1 time(s).
