GARCIA CONOLON ROD ID

My lil bro gave me a fishing rod in need of a touch up. Here is what I can tell you about it.

The blank is green, and on the label (very faded) i can make out this information

Medium Action

?690 G (can't see the first #)

The blank has 3 guides on it with 2 white painted trim bands on each side of the guide wrap.
The butt is wooden and the chrome reel seat is 2 pieces allowing butt to detach.

Does anyone have a listing of rods and their "codes" and or line ratings?

Garcia Conolon 5-star. Most were either black with maroon and white (paint) trims, or green with green wraps and white (painted) trims. Not sure if they used the numerals as feet and inches, or just inches. I have a couple and need to take a look and measure them to match to the numbers.

Pretty decent rods in their day.

Thanks Tom. Any idea what the "G" would stand for?

I've searched on the web for some more info and cam back with codings of "T" and "B" and mine is a "G"?

Curiosity can be time consuming!

From the bottom of the butt to the tip of the rod is 83.5"

It's a boat/pier rod. Not really sure what the "G" stands for. Is this a casting rod or spinning rod? I'm going to guess it's a casting rod.

In the link above, is the information I am trying to fill in on my blank. the label in this pic looks just like mine but only legible!

The rod has the wooden butt with mushroom cap, 2 piece chrome reel seat, 3 XBG style guides and tip top.

thanks for all the help. Researching is fun.

I'm very familiar with the rod - I own several but I'm not really sure what the model numbers stand for. It's not the usual nomenclature that most rod makers used.
