Does anyone know if there is a fly line weight data base that publishes the actual weight in grains that any given manufacturer and model of line is produced to? Dr. Bill's fly line analyzer is a great tool in determining this but a collection of data would be nice to review before making a line purchase. Re: Fly Line Data Base

I would not be surprised if the same two lines are different weights. You may be better weighing them your self ? Bill - willierods.com Re: Fly Line Data Base

All I can tell you is that I've weighed a bunch of them and the lesser expensive lines are generally within the actual AFTMA specs for weight. The more expensive and specialty type lines are often as much as half line weight heavier than marked. Some will mention this on their packaging, others will not.
