I recently was asked to replace the top half of a Fenwick FS85C. I think it may currently be following around a silver salmon behind some unknown length of line somewhere in the Columbia river, or else it probably sank to the bottom by now. I have the bottom half. I contacted Fenwick customer service, but was told the following:
Dear Andrew, Unfortunately, we do not repair rods or have any parts or components for rods and this is a discontinued model that is no longer available or in production. So, is it possible that someone has one of these blanks left over? In the past I have gotten the top half of a Lamiglas certified pro replaced by the excellent folks over at Lamiglas for a very nominal fee. Great customer service. I wonder if a top half from a different manufacturer would / could be used? Any experience along these lines out there? Thanks. Andy K. Re: Fenwick FS85C

Fenwick once produced rods and blanks here in the U.S. In the early 1990's, they were purchased by OTG and rods procured offshore simply had the Fenwick logo applied to them. They do not have a service department nor do they sell or stock rod blanks.
Trying to jury rig another tip from another rod isn't going to result in a very good match I'm afraid. This may be one of those instances where the least expensive route is simply buying a new rod. .................. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
