Looking for 2 piece mod action 7 1/2- 8 ' spin blank

I have a friend looking for a new spinning rod for casting ~ 1/4 oz jigs to sea trout, and he prefers 2 piece. I agreed to build one for him-it will be his first custom rod designed for his reel and his preferences. He uses braid. I've found some nice one piece rods, like the Castaway 964, but am still looking for a 2 piece. Any suggestions?

What about this St Croix

I use this for casting upto 1/4 oz jigs for Bream on flats. Casts a mile and has a surprisingly soft tip.

Mike,

St Croix has a 2S76MLF2 listed in their Salmon and Steelhead (Wild River) blanks. It's rated at 6-12lb line and 1/8-1/2oz lures. You may have better luck looking at Steelhead blanks for a rod of this kind (long and light).

Cabela's Traditional 2 8 foot 5 weight fly rod blank.
The blank is actually closer to an 8 weight and will handle the weights you propose.
Recently on sale for $30.
They also have a nice graphite reel seat for $6 you may like.

Look at the 3 piece Lamiglass 904 popping blank on clearance at the Mudhole. I have one and it loads enven down to 1/8 ounce. It is a 7 1/2 foot cannon with a 1/4 ounce bait. Takes down to VERY short and easy to carry. He would love this rod and its the right price also.
