I was away most of the day finishing study and practice on a craft I've been working on for about 2 years now. Some things take time to become proficient enough to the point where you're ready to instruct others. This is one of those things.
In the Volume 12 #5 issue of RodMaker, due out in late October, we'll unveil a process that almost any custom rod builder can utilize to further expand his or her custom horizons. So often we're locked into making our rods a certain way due to the components available. Those rod builders who have broken free and learned to make some of their own components realize the freedom and advantage they have in being able to make exactly what they need instead of having to adapt to what's commonly available off the shelf. Some things are hard for the rod builder to make, however, requiring skill and equipment that not all can afford or become proficient in. But this new technique is so easy (if you follow the instructions) that any builder who tries it is going to find a new freedom in making his own components on a broad scale. I'll not say much more other than that I think this will be one of the most exciting techniques that has ever been presented in RodMaker. ................. Re: New Technique

Same sort of buildup for the foam core carbon skin grips and that was no let down! Looking forward to a similar breakthrough in another area of rod building. Re: New Technique
