Does anyone have a suggested DVD for beginners for building Bass Casting Rods. I want the basics. No Thread Art or fancy stuff. Thanks for the help!

For DVD's I'd recommend Doc Ski's. It's not specific to bass rods but not bad on methodology to build a rod.

I started out following a DVD by Flex Coat titled, "How We Do It". I found it very informative. There are a few good books also. Try: " Rod-Builder Guide", b y Tom Kirkman

They are sold by many of the sponsors to the left.

For all around general purpose rod building, "How We Do It" by Flex Coat is tough to beat.

I had been going to ask this same question, but since the thread is started, I will ask here. Are there any DVD's that deal with the basics of using a rod lathe? I have seen the one about using a wood lathe for making reel seat inserts, grips etc., but I am looking for a basic DVD on wrapping a rod on a lathe.

I have several rodbuilding videos .......... the best one without a doubt is Ken Preston's Rod Building Basics ........ second is Rob Building Basics by Steve Petri ......... I was really disappointed with Flex Coat's video ........
