In a little less than just 1 year, a full 50,000 window decals featuring the International Symbol for Custom Rod Building have been distributed, free of charge, to custom rod builders all over the world. Of course, some builders have wound up with 2 or even 3 which brings the actual number of builders sporting the symbol down quite a bit from that number of 50,000. But we're still talking about 15,000 to 20,000 that are displaying the symbol worldwide at this time.

Which brings me to the point of this post - I'm out of decals. This was a pretty costly thing for me to do and I hadn't planned on having any more produced for free distribution. However, the daily mail still brings in 5x7 SASEs requesting one of the free decals. The number of requests has not abated one bit in the last few months.

For that reason I'm going to see about having a small number (5,000 or so) done and will continue the offer of a free decal until those run out. You can visit the official symbol website at [www.intcustomrodsymbol.org] for details. Most importantly, if you send for one, please remember that I cannot put a 5-inch decal into a 3-inch high standard letter type envelope. Folding the decal will generally ruin it by the time it reaches you. For that reason, the offer plainly states that your SASE must be a 5x7 inch envelope.

I hope to have some more decals in stock within a couple weeks or so.

Have you had any feedback from this side of the pond? ie photos, email. I know there is maybe up to 100+ out over here. I lost my count on what Ive gave out.

I've had a couple guys in the U.K. email to thank me for the decals. I get scattered reports from rod builders all over about seeing vehicles or boats sporting the decal. Even with tens of thousands out and around, however, we're stilling talking about a pretty small number against the overall population.

Question, and your answer will dictate whether I do this or not. Would it be OK to scan the image and reprint it off on the Holographic media? Mind you I would only be doing this for myself and my own vehicle. I would NOT be doing it for resale or gift to anyone. I would NEVER stoop to the level of plagerism!! It goes completely against my morals and convictions!!

As the copyright information on the website says, as long as you don't put it on an item that you are marketing for sale it's perfectly fine. In fact, I put artwork on the website so you could download it and use it on your business cards, brochures, etc.
