small bugs crawling on rod

I put one coat of cp on a rod about a week ago. Now i went to put a second coat on today and there was about 15 very tiny white bugs crawling around on the rod. I squished them all and put the cp on. Could they have possibly come out of the cork? I only seen them on the rod and not around work bench, although they could be very easy to miss not being on the black rod. They are about the size of the end of a mechanical pencil lead. If they weren't moving I would have thought they were dust or something like that. Anyone have any ideas.

Any creepy crawly or flying thing, loves any finish. Don't keep food or animals in your rod work area

Hey Alex thanks for that one. You are so right. That is the reason I do my finishes after dark. I put my finish on and then turn off the lights.

Jason, When I start seeing "BUGS" crawling on my fishing rods I put the cork back in the bottle!
