How does a birch bark handle compare to cork, graphite, and wood? Also what are the advantages of birch bark, and what kind of birch bark do i want to use? If you have any tips on building a birch bark handle would you let me know. Thanks Re: Birch bark handles

White Birch is the most popular in use. And it seems that the colder the climate the thicker the bark. I have used bark form, Wisconsin, Maine, Canada and Siberia, and the Siberian is by far the thickest.
The advantage is purely in appearance as it is heavier than cork and carbon composite and generally lighter than most woods. Birchbark combines very well with other materials in making exotic grips. Look at some of the photos in the "grips & Handles" sections in the above link. Re: Birch bark handles
