if i find a metalic gold fine point sharpie to sign a rod with, will flex coat's high build finish eat through it or distort it in any way?
if so, other suggestions? i'm in the mountains right now with not a lot of access to an art supply store. i only have a week before i leave for school, so ordering a pen and ink wouldn't get here in time... Re: signature on fly rod....

Baron,
Just let it dry before you varnish it Re: signature on fly rod....

I have use a fine point silver mettalic Sharpie with good results. If the surface is nice and glossy, you can wipe it off with alchohol if you make a mistake. Flex Coat goes on without any issues. Re: signature on fly rod....

When writing with a pen I like to give the area a fine scotch pad sanding. Seems to help the pen wright better and not slip. A hair dryer helps to dry it. Bill - willierods.com Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
