Can anyone recommend a relatively cheap blank for party boat bluefishing. The use of the rod would be for chunking/diamond jigging with a spinning reel.
Thanks Re: Cheap Blank for PB Bluefish

Go to the NERBS logo on the left hand side of your screen for advise on your problem. Billy is IMHO the most knowledgeable person when it comes to your type of fishing. Indeed, if I had a question like yours I would ask him. At the last NERBS meeting I attended (at his shop) we tested a party boat rod he designed in conjunction with Seeker. We high sticked it time and again with more weight added each time to see when it broke. IT did not break - The bucket we kept putting weight onto did. Ask him and avoid any errors on your part. Billy is the man when it comes to party boat fishing, but the Seeker's he's had made are not what the first thing I think of when the term "cheap blank" comes up.
My two cents? If I were in your position, I'd get one of the Mudhole house label glass blanks. They're less than $20, you can get them in seven feet, which a good length for PB fishing, and they're supposedly pretty tough. For the price, you can't lose, really. Re: Cheap Blank for PB Bluefish

What size reel and line? I'd recommend a 8' blank for PB fishing. I'd also recommend a composite in whatever brand you decide as there are many. Batson is a good inexpensive blank if that is the route you are going. Where are you fishing and how deep is the water? Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
