X-wrap question

I am planning on using X-wrap and a plate type reel seat on my new rod.
Has anyone ever tried to secure the plate on the blank, then slide the X-wrap over, shrink it and cut a hole in the wrap to expose the reel seat? I thought I could then epoxy the edges so they don't lift. I have never used either of these before. Does this sound feasable? Any response is welcome. Re: X-wrap question

Sorry I was thinking these were called X-wrap but I guess it's just shrink tube for grips. Re: X-wrap question

Is that similar to the Xflock shrink material? If so then try the following
I have tried it and it can work if you first lay some heat glue around the seat. Shrink it and let it totally cool down. Only then attempt to cut the slot in the xflock Re: X-wrap question

Shrink wrap first then secure the plate seat over that. cutting the shrink will only weaken it Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
