Besides Cork Seal what else do you use on cork grips to seal them? Re: cork sealer

Thompson's Water Seal won't change the color of the cork to any noticeable degree. Many prefer it for that reason. Of course, Cork Seal doesn't really change the color either.

Some use Permagloss but I've not used it personally. I wonder if Cork Seal is as good as that is what i use.

Cork Seal is preferred if you do not desire a high gloss cork surface. It is very functional without changing drastically the natural feel of cork in hand. It is exceptional for locking in fillers which are present in preformed cork sections, keeping cork from getting exceptionally dirty by sealing pores due to use and extending the life of cork. You can achieve almost the same thing by using Casey Birchwoold Sanding Sealer. I use Tronkak Cork Seal on every rod I build. Mo I have weighed cork before and after and it is the one for you! I also have the MSDS Sheet for the active ingredients. I apply it with my bare finger but do not add it to my morning coffee! Re: cork sealer

Yea I know you are not supposed to but it works - I have thinned out finish and for a sealing coat just wipe on with a rag even black sponge from the paint stores. Just make sure the cork is clean and free of dust. Bill - willierods.com Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
