Stripping a rod

What is the best method of stripping a rod to the blank?

I use steam to soften the epoxy and a new razor blade to cut the the wraps above the guide feet when possible.

If you're talking about getting the finish off the rod blank itself, then either scraping the finish or using a mild citrus type paint remover is your best bet.
