If the epoxy is still soft just pull them off. You can remove the epoxy with denatured alcohol (preferred) or acetone. Neither of these will damage the blank. If you damage the finish beneath the reel seat, don't worry about it at all since it's hidden. You should do your best to remove as much epoxy as you can epoxy on the inside of the reel seat. Remix new epoxy are you're good to go.

Just curious, what epoxy did you use? Most of the adhesive types of epoxy I have used, as long as you were close to a 1 to 1 ratio set up without any problems. Re: help with ill mixed epoxy

Mike,it was fc.i mixed it wrong.i knew it was wrong as i put too much hardner in it.it was a mistake that i payed for.call it stupid, because it was.problem is solved though.applied a little heat, pulled seats off and cleaned with denatured alcohol.this time i will not get in a hurry and do the job right.that is about 70 rod with the fc and never had any problems before.i always leave a little in mixing dish just make sure it sets right.thanks for the replys, jim. Once you clean up everything with alcohol, I'd re-scuff the blank and seat.
