blank for Poes 100 and strike king 3,4,5

Evening gents, I have recently come upon the need for a couple of new sticks. I will be throwing Poes 100's (heavy cedar bait) as well as the Strike King series 3,4, and 5 baits. I realized no one blank is going to accomplish this task and that is GREAT.... new rods are always welcome. I will be throwing them in heavy wood cover (very minimal vegetation to deal with) what do you all suggest? I really like the Loomis CB843 as well as the Croix 66mhm that I currently have any and all suggestions are welcome! Oh I will be throwing these with a citica and 12-15lb flourocarbon. Yes, I will be using slpit carbon grips as well as micros, this much I know.

thanks,
Tom Kaufmann

Tom

You can't go wrong with the Castaway XP3 popping rods. P963, P964 and P965 from Swampland Tackle. Total finished weights of 8'0" rods can weigh as little as 3.2 to 3.4 ounces.

I sell a bunch of Castaway XP3 963s to guys for the Strike King 3s and 4s. A few will even throw the heavier stuff on the 963. If you like the Loomis 843, the 3 power XP3 is close. I'd go up to at least the 7'6" 903. I looked a long time for a rod that is similar to the Loomis CBR 903 and finally found it in the Castaways. I've got a guide I build rods for that had 10 of the CBR903s in his boat and has replaced them all with 963s and a few extra 964s and 965s. He's one that will throw any size bait on the 963 and really only uses the 4 and 5 for Traps. The rods have that really soft tip, but still have all the power in the butt when you need it.
