Tom,
In your picture: [www.rodbuilding.org] You speak of the rubber cap, which is used to finish off the ends of reel seats - for fly rods. Any particular brands or suppliers that you can mention for these caps. It looks like these caps might be similar to caps that I have seen in a hardware store. Roger Re: No fore grip - cap?

I've never seen anything like them in a hardware store. Anybody that makes or distributes the nylon/graphite type seats should offer these as well. Generally they come in size 16, 17 and 18.

Thanks for the updates.
In checking the mudhole source, it appears that these are butt caps. So, I assume that for the fore grip side of the reel seat; one simply bores the center of the cap to fit the rod on which the cap is being used? Roger Edited 1 time(s). Yes. They bore easily in a lathe or drill press. You could also cut them with a plug cutter.

I get plugs from the hardware store all the time. Made of nylon, they grip the inside of the blank once they are inserted, tho I add a dab of epoxy if the fit is not tight. They are a thin nylon though, and I remember the Mudhole ones being a lot better for the job. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
