gudbrod CP revisited

There was a thread a while back about gudbrod cp loosening threads on a cross wrap...I've posted 2 pics of rods in the photo section where the cp has loosened a wrap: 4 axis reversing chevons and confederate flag wrap..I was hoping someone would mention the loose threads in comments but no one has so far...being as they are personal rods and my PRACTICE learning the wraps, I put finish on anyway...I am however wondering what caused this...too much cp???I thought someone once said that cp will tighen a wrap not lossen it, I noticed on both that the threads got loose and pulled away from where I packed. I normally don't use gudbrod but I ran out of flex coat cp and decided to give gudbrod a whirl.

It really doesn't have anything to do with which CP you use. Any time you wet, cloth, fabric or thread it will stretch and or relax as it is. I don't do many cross wraps, but I have gotten in to cp the wrap before I tie it off, I haven't had any problems with the wraps coming lose.

That's correct, and the problem is worse with any NCP thread. You can put a drop of CP at your centers and other thread crossing points to lock things down and then apply your regular coat of CP without having this problem.
