Hey Guys,
I would need your advise. I'm about to build a speed jigging rod on a JM350 blank from Jigging Master 5'8" max recommended drag setting is slightly more than 50#. I'm kinda new to this speed jigging thing and I am wondering which guide setup would be advisable. I want to use Fuji's MNST's. Does anybody here has experience on how many and which sise to use? My first guess would be like 20, 16, 12, 10, 10, 10 and tip 10? Thanks in advance for some advise! Bruno Re: Saltwater Jigging Rod setup

What spinning reel are you pairing it with ? The ones we are using for jigging have huge spools (ie. 20Ks and TS30s). That JM350 is a beast of a blank (in a good way).
You'll probably be using 100lb+ leader/top shot also. That thick mono/flouro unloads like a coiled spring. The MNSGs are fine, I'd start with 30s or even 40s depending and get down to 10s as soon as reasonable. Then load test twice, once with 12oz and once with as much weight as your temp guide placement can take. MNSG 40-30-20(16)-12(10)-12(10) and likely a MNST 10 or 12 tip. On a 5'8" blank, your choke guide will be your tip.
Your reel will likely be a 6-8k stella or similar on the light side up to 20k sized spools on the heavy side. Most of these style rods have a rather long rear grip (14" upwards to around 20"), the seat, then a 6-8" foregrip and then your guides. You really don't want to go with anything less than a very strong setup. As said above, static test probably to about 15-20# hanging off the tip. That blank should be near fully flexed with that amount of weight. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
