It's not repackaged from something else, so no, you can't buy it at Home Depot or similar. There are some other products that perform a similar function, however, such as Thompson's Water Seal.

I love the stuff. I tried a comparison on 2 rods that are built exactly the same with the same cork. The cork that has seal applied to it is not as spongy or soft. There is a very notable difference. The rods are new so I cannot speak to the durability issue, but I assume it would prolong the durability of the cork.

I use it on about 50% of my builds. Some customers like the look and feel, some do not. Personally I like it and have it on all of my personal rods. For what it costs, you can purchase a small container, and it will last a very long time.

I got a bottle last year and reworked several rods by sanding the cork until fresh cork showed itself. I varied the grit of sandpaper from 60 to 100. I had my doughts but am a real fan today. I have a year of good results. I have reworked about 12 rods with it and really like it. GOOD STUFF. Re: cork seal

Oh, don't use to much and only one coat. Don't let it drip, a very thin coat. Re: cork seal

You can use TRU-OIL( gun stock finish)to seal the cork. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
