I recently came across a new Sabre Lite SL30, 8-20 test, 6 foot spinning rod that is gold in color with a light blue handle.
It was made by California Tackle in Carson, Ca. I have tried to find out what I could about the rod on the internet without much success. I've found some historical info on the maker but couldn't fijnd anything on the rod or its approximate value. It seems like a pretty good rod that I can use when I'm fishing deep fresh water with my downrigger for large German Browns. Anyone out there have any info about this rod that could help me. I have a Sabre Lite SL 18 spinning rod (4-12lb 7ft.) and have had it since back in the day.
Love the rod but needs a lighter guide train. Think it's "S" glass. As to value? Most guys probably wouldn't give $50 for it. Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. Re: Sabre Lite SL30

I believe Sabre was eventually bought by Pflueger and then bought by Seeker. At least their patterns and models.
California Tackle was at the forefront of the fast taper tuna rod craze, although I suppose the Fenwick Tuna-Sticks and Pacific Stick Royales were the very first of that type. ............. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
