Underwraps for saltwater rods

Having read thru the discussions on underwraps, even with proper guide prep, it seems that underwraps are recommended for heavier saltwater rods. But what kinda rods fall into this category of heavy saltwater rods? I'm currently building a 5'8 PE2 spinning rod using single foot guides (Fuji LVSG & SG). Is an underwrap necessary/recommended for this setup? Thanks in advance for your views.

We'd be talking very heavy IGFA trolling, heavy boat or heaver type surf. Although, these are tough blanks and really don't require them either, but they certainly won't be noticed on such heavier rods.

I doubt what you're doing requires underwraps and in fact, since you seem to be trying to eliminate unnecessary weight, I'd skip them.
