Can anyone lead me in the right directions for choosing a blank for bucktailing fluke? I am interested in using a spinning reel for this application so my wife can use the rod as well. I do most of my fishing in Raritan Bay from party boats or my best friends boat. I would like to keep it as light as possible with some backbone for larger fish. Any suggestions welcomed!
Thanks! Re: GUSA blank for FLUKE?

GUSA folded a while back. A new company called United Composites is gearing up to make many of their old models along with some new ones. I do not see them on the sponsor list here so you will have to do a search for them on google or somewhere. Re: GUSA blank for FLUKE?

Look at the NERBs site, I'd think the SW70M or MH would work. Re: GUSA blank for FLUKE?

E-mail Billy V the head NERB. He may still have some GUSA blanks available. Freddwhy (Rapt-Ryte) Re: GUSA blank for FLUKE?

Derrek, If you fish out of Keyport or Seawarn ask Duke to give you a lesson in bucktailin' for Fluke or just watch him. He's in the money on most days. His blank of choice is a St.Croix 2S70HF2. I take 9 inches off both ends.He likes Fuji alconites set up for casting gear with a split grip. All black he likes the Stealt look. And thats it! It's his design and he's happy.
