I have always used another double foot guide (one size smaller ) than my double foot stripper guide, for a tamer. Usually put it approx. 41/2 " forward of the stripper. Have any of you used a single foot guide for the tamer? Reasons and thoughts are welcome. Thanks Re: Tamer Guide Question

It won't make any difference - the line isn't concerned with how many legs or feet the guide has. The ring is the only thing it cares about.
If a single foot guide will take whatever use you plan to give it, then use it. ............ Re: Tamer Guide Question

Thanks Tom. I need to finish a rod ASAP and I found I did not have a matching double foot # 10 guide for my # 12 stripper. But I do have a single foot for it. Re: Tamer Guide Question

I use a double foot guide for the stripper guide and tamer guide, but then drop down to single foot for the rest.
That said, there is no reason that a single foot guide couldn't replace the double foot as the tamer guide as well, and doing so will cut a little more weight from the rod. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
