Looking for a small dia aluminum rod tube.

Do any of you know where I can find a small Dia aluminum rod tube?

The 2" tubes seem to be the standard now days. This 2pc fly rod I just finished it a delicate little thing built on a Batson 6'6" 2wt blank .

I would like to find a 1 1/2" dia rod tube 42" long if I can. I plan ot customize the tube a bit with leather covering and engraving on the end caps. A 2" tube just looks out of proportion and bulky for this rod.

Thanks,

Ray

Angler's Workshop sells a 1-5/8" x 41" aluminum tube with caps.

They will also cut to non-standard lengths for a small fee, just give them a call.

REC has the one and five eights tubs also. They will cut to length. I am pretty sure Custom tackle with have it in the Landmarfk aluminum tubes also.

I have not found a industrial source of tubing that looked good for rod building in other sizes.

Ray,
Another very nice and good option is to use a piece of thin wall pvc tubing and make a tight fitting nylon cover for the outside. Very inexpensive, but very attractive.

Some one emailed me the link to the Landmark website. I like the look of their tubes with the domed brass caps. Very classy and very attractive. I think thats the way I will end up going.

Thanks guys,

Ray
