I'm trying to find some of the Fuji black painted reel seats (spinning) like the ones Bingham has sold in the past at a very modest cost. Karen is out of the spinning seats; anyone know where I might find any?
I think these seats were the same used by St Croix on some of their rods. Walt Davenport "Roadhouse Rods" Re: Painted Fuji Reel Seats

Bill,
Try wrapping Teflon (plumbers) tape around the threads and when it starts to set up, peel the tape off Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Re: Painted Fuji Reel Seats

I posted a photo of a Fuji seat that I custom painted. This particular one was painted with a few VERY light coats of PlastiKote (Tar Heel blue) and sealed with a few moderate coats of Minwax Helmsman Spar Urethane Clear Gloss.
[www.rodbuilding.org] Thanks to Pat Vinzant for sharing the Minwax tip a couple of years ago! Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 05/15/2009 10:36PM by Jim Gamble. Re: Painted Fuji Reel Seats

Mike ... YES, it is a decal. I worked with Debbie and Jimi at Decal Connection to get them designed/sized. They work great. Give Debbie a call if you are interested - they are inexpensive, very easy to apply AND work for all types of clientele.
Bill ... I doubt you will find anything more durable than the spar urethane I am using. It is SUPER durable, outdoor rated, marine grade, UV resistant, etc. A real bonus is that it doesn't have the head-ringing odor of Permagloss. Re: Painted Fuji Reel Seats

Give Scott at Fishsticks a call he has around 300 painted reel seats. There really nice, automotive paints and a clear coat that a big cat cant scratch,\. He has painted Fuji's in ESCM'S, DNPSM'S,DPSM'S and Castaway 1 piece seats. He has a terrific display of colors from basics to color shifts to scale patterns. You really have to see these. Im sure he can order any color you want if its in a quanity. Blaks or even mettalic blacks.
