Electric decal printing help

Folks I'm in need of some assistance. I saw the Electric decals in the magazine and at the rod expo. I liked them and purchased a pack of silver holographic from texas craft. I clicked the rod maker symbol and got the right part number for the silver. I printed a set of decals for the first time and they came out great. Ever since then I cannot print a decent decal. I'm using a black background with silver letters for peoples names. The black isn't printing. Again the first set was perfect, but now they start out dark then fade to a ever lightening black, almost orange looking. I changed the ink cartridge so I have fresh ink so, I don't think that is the problem. I have an HP. I'm kinda at my wits end as I've wasted three pieces of the holographic paper. Any one have nay ideas as to why it won't print properly?

Craig

If they came out great the first time, try your best to remember what is different in subsequenent times. It's got to be simple. Paper type? Ink settings? Paper size? Tray selection? Etc, etc.

Maybe you need to re-calibrate.

Good idea on the recalibration, I'll try that. Paper is the same, size is same, only have the one tray. I tried a piece of regular paper and the labels printed fine so it specific to the silver shine holographic. Thanks for the response.

Try changing the PAPER TYPE maybe photo paper glossy photo paper pro or glossy film setting (this lays down more ink in a closer "splat setting"

Folks with ya'lls help I figured out my printing problem. I had left the pack of paper in the garage for a few days. Wasn't intentional I was showing a buddy the paper and talking about how great it is and left it on the work bench. I think the humidity got to the paper and made it swell a little. I looked at the bad print job closely and it looks as if the ink was getting put down then wiped away. I took the wifes hair dryer and put it on low and held over the paper moving it back and forth for about 5 minutes. I then changed the setting on the printer to photo paper instead of regular and it prints perfect again. Not sure if the setting was off or if the humidity got to the paper, but for the rest of this pack, I'm going to blow dry it before I print.

Thanks for the help on the printing options.

For all of the downsides of living in CA, at least humidity isn't one of them! The dry heat has its own problems, but swollen decal paper just doesn't happen here... :-)
