I want to add a couple of decals to rods that are already epoxied and have seen a little use. The existing epoxe is in excellent shape.
Can I just apply the decals and give the decal area a couple coats of epoxe ? Should I do any thing special to make sure the epoxe adheres to the existing epoxe ? Should I CP over the decal before applying epoxe ? I am using decal connection water slide decal paper. Thank you, Tom Re: Decal Question !

just thin the epoxy with HEAT DO NOT THIN WITH chemicals
apart from that just clean the area and bang it on You may want to slightly scuff the area to give it a water break surface but not essential Re: Decal Question !

If it is a clear water slide, then you will need to remember that the scuffs will show through the decal as the epoxy will not be making contact under the decal.

Actually, Decal Connection recommends a coat of finish before decals are applied. Do not scuff the finish under the decal, but you should prep the rest of the area to be re-coated.. Just apply normally right over the decal. Make sure you let the decal sit overnight before applying the finish coat however.
