just finished a tiger 4 days ago.i practiced on a piece of old rod that was lying around.went step by step as outlined in rm mag.practice piece turned out good.set to work on a rod for the real thing.finished it 4 days ago.turned out a lot better than i could imagine.yesterday,a man walked into my shop saw the rod and did not leave without it.he liked it a lot.i was going to post pics but sold the darn thing before i had a chance to.going to start a new one today.maybe i can get this one in my boat before it sells.thanks to all for writing the articles and sharing their knowledge and years of wisdom with us new kids.jim gregory.

Scott Throop was nice enough to share that with us all, and it truly is something so unique that many have not seen it and when done well it looks stunning.

It would be nice if folks would refer to it as the "Throop Tiger Wrap" in the same way that we do the "Forhan Locking Wrap." These guys won't make any money off their innovations so they might as least have their names associated with their techniques. It would be a nice gesture and if we all do it enough, it'll "stick."

James,

Glad it worked well for you. Take and post some photos of the next one.

Tom, that was my reasoning for posting his name prior to saying anything else.

Very good. I understand. If more would do it, that would be a fitting thanks for him sharing the technique.

Not your fault at all and my post wasn't aimed at you. I'm glad you brought it up, it gave me a chance to mention the idea, once again.

If Mr. Throops wrap sells the rod maybe we should send him a percentage of the sale? Oh did I say that out loud! Seriously I just did my first Throop Tiger Wrap rite on the rod itself ( I new the directions in the article would not steer me wrong) it came out great. I'm going to do one on a fly rod. Thank you Mr. Throop for sharing that great wrap.
