Hello Everybody,
I know this question has most likely been asked a few million times but here's a million and one. How do I determine which side to spiral wrap to and does it make a difference, performance wise, which side I spiral to? I have a friend that does his to the left but then again he only uses left handed baitcasters. Thanks, TONY Re: What side to spiral wrap to?????

Tony,
On a rod that will lay on deck like a bass rod, many spiral to the side of the handle. On reels without a level wind, most spiral away from the handle, as that is where the thumb is that guides the line. The line only 'knows' how to follow its constrained path, it really doesn't care which way it skirts the blank in a spiral. Joe Re: What side to spiral wrap to?????

If a bass fisherman - to the side he strips line when pitching or flipping - when he is using the rod it is not laying on the deck of the boat - if he is worried about what side the handle is on when it is on the deck build all on top. Be sure to put the hookkeeper in a postion he will have to cut it off with cutting pliars as well - }> Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
