I just received in a supply of the CS90 FUJI ceramic zirconia scissors. The blades are made from Zirconia Ceramic-- so hard is this material that it is known as "ceramic steel". The static free blades are perfect for all kinds of cutting, fly tying and rod building. . Snap lock cover protects blades. Handles are made of graphite filled nylon- super strong and lightweight.
--Sharpening free ( blades are so hard they keep their sharpness forever) --Non corrosive ( blades and handles will not corrode in saltwater use) You can find this item on my website under the closeout section. We are selling them for half of what they retail for. If interested contact me direct. Thank you- Karen Hapka Bingham Enterprises binghamenterprises@kc.rr.com Re: CERAMIC SCISSORS

I bought a pair of these some time ago. They're really pretty spectacular. I didn't realize that they were still available. All fly tyers should have a pair.

Is the scissor blade very fine/ narrow to allow close cropping/ cutting? Do you have any pictures?
Thank you, Rick Re: CERAMIC SCISSORS

They are short, fine tipped scissors for close-in work. I believe Normark made these originally and they were sold by Fuji for fly tying. Either way, they're remarkable scissors. Wish they came in larger sizes.

Thank you, Tom. Are they serrated? My hope is to use them to cut braided line, deer and bear hair. etc. Re: CERAMIC SCISSORS

They look smooth, but if you run your fingernail across the blade edges you can feel minute serrations.
I just tried it on some 50lb Power Pro braid - the scissors cut it like butter. I know they'll cut deer hair nicely. I've been doing that for a decade or more with mine. ........... Re: CERAMIC SCISSORS

I have a pair of these scissors and they work wonderfully well for some - but not all applications.
Pick up a pair and use them for the applications that make sense. Roger Re: CERAMIC SCISSORS

Roger, what do they work well and not so well for? Would appreciate specific examples if possible.
Also wish someone could post a pic of these scissors. Thanks, Mo Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 03/31/2009 11:03PM by Mo Yang. Re: CERAMIC SCISSORS

I doubt they'd excel at cutting steel or copper, but for fly tying chores they're fantastic. Considering that most ceramics scissors sell for $50 to $150 per pair, I think these are a steal. Why not order a pair and see what you think.
They're short, fine tipped and narrow. Made for fly tying. I suppose they might have some applications in rod building but I have always used mine for trimming deer hair, floss, tinsel, etc. ................ Re: CERAMIC SCISSORS
