Gel Ink and Color Preserver

I am close to personalizing my first rod, built with lots of help from the people here. I have some clear adhesive labels from a label printer I use at work. The gold gel pen works great on the clear label, but does dry very slowly. My question is, once I have determined the ink is completely dry, will color preserver and ultimately epoxy, turn the ink into a gooey runny mess. Also what is the protocol for color preserver on gel ink, labels, etc. As always thanks for the help.

Dan,
I'm not a professional by any means, but I've been building for a few years now. I've use the gel pens and write directly on the rod, I then cover it with CP and I've never had problems with it running or smearing.

Some will smear for sure. You can hit them with a quick coat of a artists fixative or matte finish from Krylon. Art supply and craft stores have them. Then apply finish over that or color preserver and finish. The spray won't smear your gel ink as it dries way too fast.
