Bamboo rod making classes

Hi folks,

I still have openings in three different types of rod making classes for 2009.

First are the once per month individual, one-on-one lessons. These lessons run 3-4 days in which we typically make a two piece, single tipped rod blank. We work long hours and focus on helping you learn the process. Another option for the individual lessons is what I call Rodmaking 201. In the 201 class, you and I work together to choose the subject matter from more advanced rodmaking topics including making hardware and reel seats, bamboo ferrules, silk wrapping techniques, etc.

Second are the small group classes for a maximum of three students per session. These are five day classes which provide a little more relaxed schedule than the 3 day lessons. We spend about 10 hours per day showing you how to use the tools and equipment necessary for making a rod. Four sessions are available, but are filling fast. 2009 Dates with openings are: May 4-8, October 12-16, and November 9-13.

The Ozark Rod Makers School is a new opportunity for up to six students to work with two full-time professional rod makers. Learn from Bob Nunley and I the techniques involved in making your own bamboo rods. We use high end professional grade equipment in a relaxed setting on the world class White River system in north Arkansas. All lodging and meals are provided, and two guided fishing trips are included. We still have openings in our April 20-25, 2009 class. Mention this site and receive a 10% discount for that session.

Contact me at maker@canerods.com or see my website via the sponsors link to schedule a convenient time in 2009 and for additional fee information.
