A friend brought over a yardsale find.... An old Offshore Angler rod with one broken roller guide. The rod has the Offshore Angler decal, but the other decal with the info about what type of rod is missing (scratched off)...
It has aftco roller guides (not HD) on it. It has a Stuarts aluminum unibutt, and appears to be an all glass blank..... The tip size is a 22, and it 6'7" long. The color sceme is blue/green, gold and black.... I did a quick search and it looks like some of the old IFGA offshore Angler rods were Fenwick. Most of the rods with a unibutt are sold as IFGA trolling rods. Any info on this rod would be great, I am going to restore it for him, but I kinda want to know how much time to put into it.... is it worth much effort? Was/is it a good rod. It will likely be used locally for halibut and albacore, he is not a long range guy, so it probably wont get put to the test.... Thanks!! Re: Offshore Angler Rod???

I assume that's a Bass Pro Shops rod. I doubt it's a Fenwick, but even if it was it wouldn't have been one of the older U.S. made Fenwick rods, which were pretty darn good rods.
Still, it was a good value when it sold and if it's not damaged it should be worth fixing. ........... Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
