Looking to experiment a little. Thought of using black ncp + fishhawk purple metallic as the base. What would you use on top?

Alex, when I need to know I just wrap a short test section. How dark is the purple fishhawk? I'd be concerned about that - you want contrast in the bottom layer.

The combination of 2 dark colors on the bottom means that your effect will be very subtle or minimal. High contrast in the bottom 2 colors provides a more striking effect.

If you want purple as your main color, use black and white on the bottom and purple on the top.

Here is Black Nylon and White NCP on the bottom Purple Nylon on top. Like Tom says, you really need to keep the contrast high on the bottom - hard to beat black vs. white.
