On the wrap around style decals: Has anyone finished a decal with an overlap at the seam, or did you manage to trim it flush with no gap showing? Or did you leave a little gap? How much does the thicker overlap part stick out?
I just printed out a few on the stardust media and was wondering which way to approach the seam. I printed on a Lexmark X3470, let it dry a few hours (afraid to leave finger prints) and sprayed two thin coats of clear satin acrylic. They are pretty showy!! Now to get them on the rod OK. Thanks! When I first started doing 360 decals, I tried to do them with an overlap. I tried triming the overlapped portion but soon abandoned that approach because all I acomplished was a big mess. I later evolved into a process where you do some exact measuring of the blank then do a little close tollerance Excel calculation to get the exact size of the required trapazoid. Then you hope you get the label placed in the exact spot where you took the measurements. This approach works pretty well once you get the hang of it but you will rarely get one exactly right so you wind up having to be very selective with background pictures so the contrast is minimized.
