Sante,
I recently built a similar rod for throwing weightless plastic for bass fishing. Unfortunately, my first build was "claimed" by a client, but I've got another to build that will be mine for sure. I really like the soft tips of the popping blanks and if you get one with a little power, they are very versatile blanks. The soft tip with throw just about anything and with the powerful butt, you've a nice capable rod for many different species and techniques. Take Care, Robert Re: all star BE845P Blank

Sante,
It is interesting that you are building this blank. I actually have several of these blanks being built right now. I am building them for live bait fishing for walleye fishing in Canada. The soft tip and stiffer but makes an excellent live bait rod. They will be built in a conventional style with standard guides and handles. Most of the folks using these rods prefer a longer solid cork handle. No split grips please. The reason for the solid handle is that they can be used in a rod stand from time to time. Also, many time after a long day of fishing, the fisherman moves his hand down near the butt to relax his hand. Thus it would be uncomfortable for him if there were a split grip on the rod used for this purpose. Good blank and it works very well.
