DOES ANY BODY KNOW A COMPANY MAKES A FAIRLY SOFT EVA BUTT GRIP. I HAVE ORDERED 3 TO GET THE DENSITY I WANT BUT THEY ARE ALL TO HARD ( FROM MUDHOLE , JANN'S AND TACKLE SUPPLY). I GUESS WHAT I,M LOOKING FOR IS A MEDIUM DENSITY GRIP. WHAT SUPPLIERS OR MANUFACTURES WOULD BE A GREAT HELP

I can't guess as to why you want the softer grip, but will mention that the firmer ones tend to be more ergonomically correct and also much more durable over the long haul.

But as I said, if you have a particular need for a softer grip, I certainly understand. You'll just have to contact some suppliers and ask.

"In the old days," like about 30 years ago, EVA foam grips were very bad for deterioration in the sunlight, or ozone, or something, so in spite of really liking their feel, I've steered away from them. Are they now much better for this? If I make a rod with EVA will it still be good 25 years from now? On some old (cheap) rods, the grips just seemed to go away.

Check out the EVA from the custom builder handles at Mudhole. I have some and it is noticeably softer than standard EVA.

You could also consider trying some Hypalon available from Mudhole. I have it on one rod I built about five years ago. It is much softer than the EVA I have been getting....I don't like it.....but it is softter.
