Older fenwick rod ID, line weight, please

Older fenwick rod, LB969----8' jig rod, has the action like a truline D8, feels like a 30/60 line weight, does anyone have a older fenwick book that gives the true line weight.
Thank You
Jim

Hi Jim,
I can't find that one in the few old catalogs I have available. I do see a LB966 listed and its a 6 power rod rated for 15-30. I can't recall yours, but as an older rod, I wouldn't think it more than maybe a 50# rod. And being as its an older rod, you may even wish to back off of that some, depending on how much use it saw.
Tom K might have it in one of his catalogs.
Best wishes,
Chuck

Aloha Jim. My Fenwick blank catalog from 1976 doesn't list a line rating. Here are the specs that are given.

LB969
8'
Extra Fast Action
Heavy Power
5/8 - 2 1/2 oz. lures
1.050 butt diameter
33/64 mid size
9/64 tip
21oz. blank weight

I don't have a '77 or '78 catalog but by the 1979 catalog the blank isn't listed anymore. Sorry couldn't anwser your question but I hope the specs will shed a little light on the rod.

LB = Live Bait. That exact model not shown but it is very likely

"Fenglass Blank Saltwater and Live bait..." Not a flyrod, obviously. From 81 catalog. No line weight shown.
