mini lathe

looking for a mini lathe. I had bought one from Harbor freight, but I burnt out the motor after 2 years. This lathe is used only to turn balsa, for floats. I really do not need a very expensive one .

Jerry,

There are a few decent lathes out there, the jet 1014 lathe and the PSI Turncrafter come to mine and I'm sure there are some more. If you buy these lathe on Amazon I think they offer free shipping. I have been using jet lathes for years and had no problems.

Hope this helps

Jerry,
If your lathe is essentially all right except for the motor, why don't you simply buy a new motor?
If you do a few searches, I expect that you can find a new motor for a decent price.
I do realize that often you can purchase the entire product for the price of a single replacement part, but it wouldn't hurt to search.

You could even check out places like pawn shops or flea markets for such used items.

Take care
Roger
