A St Criox 4M80MHF is an excellent all around blank. For a high-end rod, thats the one! Re: Musky Blank

The St. Croixs in MHF are a great "all around" blanks that can toss light inline bucktails to topwaters.
I tend to feel that they really excell for bucktails. ...................................... Better to have and not need than to need and not have. Re: Musky Blank

I would definetly buy a st. croix, they are the only company i know of the acually has a musky line up. Most of the rest are saltwater rods also labeled as musky. Re: Musky Blank

As far as guides go, I would use Fuji alconites. You could probably gert away with using mostly single foot guides if you want to make it as light as possible. I have caught quite a few muskies on my "bass" rods and they have held up fine to muskies. The biggest I have landed was a 53" on a SCIV 7' MHF that I built with fuji alconites, spiral wrapped, of course. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
