Does anyone know where these are available? Also, are they still US made? I heard they were very good, but also hear they were switching to over-seas sourcing.
Thanks, Marc Re: Diamondback Muskie Rod Blanks?

Marc,
The last few Diamonback muskie blanks I ordered were thru Thorne Bros. I am not quite sure if they still use them in their builds, I doubt it. They may have some left over, try giving them a call. By far the lightest blank for it's size but if they are out sourced I not so sure I would want to spend the money on them. Jeff Leonard Muskyfsh Re: Diamondback Muskie Rod Blanks?

I think Diamondback rods are now made, or at least assembled overseas. I used to buy a lot of the Classic Trout blanks, the ones with the distinctive diamond weave graphite and loved them. Not many blanks made a better trout rod in my opinion. Winston WT's, Scott G2's and the Orvis Superfine's come to mind. I am thoroughly bummed. I contacted Diamondback late last year to inquire about the blanks and was told they weren't available. Likely this is the result of being bought by Cortland. Too bad because they were fantastic blanks, and not just the Classic series. The musky blanks were indeed outstanding and the Diamondfly series was really good too. I also built a few rods on the Diamondglas fiberglass blank, which are a lot of fun to fish on a small stream. I still have one and intend to hang on to it now. Thank God I kept a few of the Classic blanks! All very nice blanks, superb finishes and more often than not right on in terms of the stated line weight/CC test results. I sincerely hope that Cortland will make available Diamondback blanks to the custom rod builder, but I won't hold my breath.
Sorry for the rant, but I am truly disapointed every time an American rod/blank manufacturer departs. John Gertz Firefly Custom Rods Re: Diamondback Muskie Rod Blanks?

I was told by a friend in Michigan that he can still get Diamondback blanks through the Cortland site. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
