Hi to all from downunder,
Have been a looong time lurker of this site & finally decided to sign up. Was a rodbuilder in a previous life, custom & commecial. Circumstances dictated that i gave it away. Recently the bug is starting to nibble & i am getting a bit of the old interest back & want to build a couple of rods for myself. I have been using a couple of the Falcon Cara range & quite like the actions, they don't sell the blanks, or didn't when i enquired a year ago, does anyone know if they roll their own or have them done by others, if so who.
thanks all
Dave

I believe Falcon continues to source their blanks from another source.

Dave

I outwrap for a living and about a year ago I did a bunch of Falcon rods. The ones I wrapped used Rainshadow blanks. I don't know if this was something special they were trying or if this is how they normally do it. I've wrapped a lot of rods for different companies and a lot of them use blanks made by other manufacturers. .

Hi Tom, there was a post from someone named Mark here that said they could tell me who manufacturers the Falcon blanks, it has since disappeared, was he doing the wrong thing & it was removed? or did he just change his mind? I don't wish to cause problems with my first post 8-(
cheers

William

I don't remember the series. The contract ran for a few months and I only wrapped around four or five hundred rods for them.
